  What Jack Churchman and the Cutcrew team have achieved at Real Bedford in just a year at the club is nothing short of remarkable. They took on responsibility for the pitch at short notice ahead of the season and immediately set to work making it playable. This was no small undertaking, given the range of challenges they inherited: a heavy clay-based soil profile, a floodplain location, and irrigation and drainage systems that both required significant repair and attention. Now, in his first summer at the club, Jack is leading the first major pitch renovation in more than 30 years. The scale of the project has been immense, but throughout the process, he and his team have approached every challenge with professionalism, pride and relentless attention to detail. From dawn starts, to long evenings, through unpredictable weather and countless hours on machinery, they have treated the project as if it were their own.
